The Pompano Beach Clippers (27-3) took down the Palm Beach Blazers (10-21) 12-0 on Monday at Pompano Beach Park after slamming the Palm Beach Blazers with nine runs in the second inning.
The Pompano Beach Clippers scored in the second on an RBI single by Jon Avallone, an RBI single by Avallone, an RBI single by Max Balter, an RBI single by Tay Jerger, an RBI double by Stephen Kerr, a groundout by Evan Dougherty, an RBI double by Mason Paxton, an RBI single by Carlos Pena, and an RBI double by Scott Mathews.
Balter got a hit in each of his three at bats.
Brandon Burgess put together a nice outing. Burgess held the Palm Beach Blazers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Jonah Owenby improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Pompano Beach Clippers. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Bobby Patterson (2-2) took the loss for the Palm Beach Blazers. He allowed 10 runs in two innings, walked two and struck out one.
