Zach Rheams is in his first season with the ThunderBolts and his second professionally. He signed with the team on July 30, 2019. His pro career began in 2018 when he was selected by the New York Mets in the 27th round of the Amateur Entry Draft. In two seasons with the Mets, he played in 76 total games, hitting .216 with ten home runs and a .297 on-base percentage, peaking at Class A Columbia. He spent two years at Texas Tech University, where he batted .297 overall, including .341 as a senior, when he was named First Team All-Big 12 and Second Team All-American after belting 17 home runs and driving in 55 runs. His first two collegiate years were spent at Cisco College in Texas, where he was named an NJCAA All-American when he hit .481 as a sophomore. Zach attended Brazoswood High School in Clute, Texas.
