Eddie Avila is in his second season, both with the ThunderBolts, in 2019. He signed with the Bolts on June 12, 2018 and started 14 games, striking out 69 batters in 69 innings. Eddie spent his final two years of college at Tarleton State University, where he saved 19 games, including 13 as a senior in 2018. Over 44 career appearances, he posted a 3.79 ERA and struck out 82 batters in 57 innings. He was named Second Team All-Lone Star Conference as a junior and First Team All-Region as a senior. He also pitched for two years at Vernon College, where he won three games and struck out 95 batters in 90 innings. He attended Boswell High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
