John Michael Twichell hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Mankato MoonDogs (33-9) to a win on Wednesday, as the Mankato MoonDogs fell to the Rochester Honkers (18-24) 14-5 at Mayo Field.
The Rochester Honkers blew out the Mankato MoonDogs thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Rochester Honkers scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Justin Parr, a two-run double by Parr, and a groundout by Trevor Podratz.
Jared Allen hit two home runs for the Rochester Honkers. Allen went 2-5 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Allen homered in the second and fourth innings.
Carl ONeal improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Rochester Honkers. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered seven hits.
Davis Henderson was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.
