Kris Paulino had two extra base hits, helping the Alaska Goldpanners (11-3) to a 7-2 victory over the Anchorage Bucs (14-6) on Saturday at Growden Memorial Park.
He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.Mike Benson struck out eight, paving the way for a the Alaska Goldpanners win. Benson allowed one earned run, seven hits and no walks over six innings.
It was a good day at the plate for the Anchorage Bucs' Dylan Butler. Butler went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the ninth inning.
Bret Marks (2-1) took the loss for the Anchorage Bucs. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed two runs.
The Alaska Goldpanners were sparked by Eric Hutting and Paulino, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
