Don’t let Kris Paulino’s size deceive you. The 5’11” 185 pound right fielder has some serious power. And it was on display in the College World Series.

Paulino lifted a grand slam in the NCAA Regionals against the top overall seed, Oregon State, to help his Anteaters advance to the Super Regionals. He continued to produce all the way to Omaha, where Irvine’s season ultimately ended abruptly. But Paulino had himself a great year for one of the nation’s best teams.

The left-handed bat from Tesoro High School started 62 games this year and tied for the team lead with five home runs. He added a .352 on-base percentage and didn’t make a single error in right. Paulino will be the last to arrive to Fairbanks, but his lineup presence will be a welcomed one when he finally does touchdown in the Great Frontier.
