The Holyoke Blue Sox (14-22) had a tough outing on Tuesday, as the Danbury Westerners (20-15) dominated in a 13-2 win at MacKenzie Stadium.
The Danbury Westerners scored four runs in the seventh on an RBI double by Josh Ake, a two-run double by Zach Shank, and an RBI single by Sean Smedley.
Mathew Boulter racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Danbury Westerners. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
The Holyoke Blue Sox couldn't get anything going so long as Fred Breidenbach was on the hill. Breidenbach gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his seven innings of work.
Paul McConkey was solid at the plate for the Holyoke Blue Sox. McConkey went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.
Andrew Thome was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
The Danbury Westerners hammered the Holyoke Blue Sox pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 17 hits, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
