Andrew Thome quickly became the University of North Dakota’s ace during his freshman year. Thome’s season was highlighted by three shutouts. The best of the bunch was a 2 hitter against the New Jersey Institute of Technology in which he struck out 9 and induced 13 ground ball outs. Thome also led the team in ERA (3.58), Innings Pitched (93), Shutouts (3), Complete Games (6), and Strikeouts (65). Andrew was also named to the Great West Conference all conference 2nd team.

In 2011 Andrew led his St Cloud Cathedral High to Minnesota’s Class 2A state championship. Andrew was also named Minnesota Class 2A Player of the Year.
