Miscue gives the West Virginia Miners 5-4 walk-off victory over the Champion City Kings

Story by Narrative Science.

A walk-off error from Nick Delgado brought home the winning run for the West Virginia Miners (30-24) in a 5-4 victory over the Champion City Kings (24-30) in 10 innings at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Sunday.

Delgado was hot from the plate for the West Virginia Miners. Delgado went 1-6, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth inning.

Keanan Locke racked up three RBIs on three hits for the West Virginia Miners. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

The Champion City Kings couldn't get anything going so long as Calvin Coker was on the hill. Coker held the Champion City Kings hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Austin Moreland ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
