The Delray Beach Lightning (2-2) and the Phipps Park Barracudas (0-4) both had scoring chances on Monday, but it was the Delray Beach Lightning that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 9-4 win at Forrest Hill H.S.

John Yurso reached base four times. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth inning.

The Delray Beach Lightning got the win thanks in large part to Chris Jordan's dominant, five-strikeout performance. Jordan allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over five innings.

Leighton Gibson paced the Phipps Park Barracudas at the plate. Gibson went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the third inning.

Jordan Poore (0-1) took the loss for the Phipps Park Barracudas. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
