Thursday was a great day for JaVaun West, as West threw eight scoreless innings to carry the Gateway Grizzlies (25-13) to a 7-0 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (20-16) at GCS Ballpark.

The Gateway Grizzlies' bats came to life in the fifth inning. The Gateway Grizzlies' bats caught fire leading to four runs.

Niko Vasquez racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Gateway Grizzlies. He homered in the fifth inning.

Cal Bowling (4-4) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed six runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
