Both the Schaumburg Boomers (10-10) and the Southern Illinois Miners (12-8) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-3 win at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.
Ty Nelson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Cal Bowling got the win, running his season record to 3-2. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered five hits.
Matt Bywater couldn't get it done on the bump for the Southern Illinois Miners, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked eight, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
