The Lambeth Lancers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Dorchester Dolphins held on for a 4-3 victory. A goal by Gus Ford put Dorchester up 4-2 in the second period, but Lambeth pulled to within one on Mitch Thomas's tally 17:59 into the third period. The win gave the Dolphins a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Cale Duberry had a great game for Dorchester, netting two goals. Duberry's tallies came at 5:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dorchester and on the power play 14:39 into the second to make the score 3-2 Dorchester. The Dolphins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Dorchester forced the Lancers goalie JP Trudell to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Liam Gillooly also scored for Dorchester. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Matt Ross, Shayne Rhyno, Dylan Salter, Patrick Freel, Chad Brulotte, and Brendon O Shaughnessy, who each chipped in one. Lambeth kept the Dolphins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Craig Wood made 38 saves on 41 shots. Others who scored for Lambeth included Nick North and Warren Hargraves, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Tanner Smith, Mitch Furlonger, Matt Schurr, and Jordan Spavor, who contributed one a piece. Dorchester incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Lancers' Trudell stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Lambeth incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Lancers, North was ejected from the game. |
