Lambeth survives Mt.Brydges comeback, wins 3-2

The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Lambeth Lancers held on for a 3-2 victory.

Lambeth took a 2-0 lead during the second period, only to have Mt.Brydges storm back on a Curtis Taylor goal 4:07 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The win gave the Lancers a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Lambeth was sparked by Mike Golinowski, who registered one goal. Golinowski scored 18:38 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Lambeth. Trevor Daynes assisted on the tally.

The Lancers stifled the Bulldogs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lambeth kept Mt.Brydges' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dane Gubbels made 50 saves on 53 shots.

Lambeth also got points from Mitch Furlonger, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lambeth also got a goal from Nick North as well. In addition, Lambeth received assists from JP Trudell, Keith Arnold, and Ryan Pennington, who contributed one a piece.

The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Lancers to score on any of their three power plays.

Mike Frizzell also scored for Mt.Brydges. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Spencer Wilson, Tony Lindner, and Cole Chilvers, who each chipped in one.

Lambeth's Trudell stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Lancers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mt.Brydges incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
