Benilde-St. Margarets pulls away in second, rolls over Hibbing / Chisholm, 6-1

The Hibbing / Chisholm Bluejackets allowed the Benilde-St. Margarets Red Knights to net three goals during the second period and fell, 6-1.

Spencer Naas had two goals to lead Benilde-St. Margarets to victory. Naas scored on the power play at 14:38 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Benilde-St. Margarets and again while 11:45 into the second to make the score 3-1 Benilde-St. Margarets.

By firing 54 shots on goal, the Red Knights exceeded the 45.7 shots they average per game this year.

Benilde-St. Margarets also got points from Ben Newhouse, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Mark Kaske, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Benilde-St. Margarets also got a goal from Zach Ristau as well. In addition, Benilde-St. Margarets received assists from Chase Jungels, Evan Fleming, Auggie Moore, Nick Austin, and Nate Meyer, who contributed one a piece and Johnny Austin and Carter Roo, who each chipped in two.

Hibbing / Chisholm struggled to put together a cohesive attack and finished with a mere 12 shots over the course of the game. However, the Bluejackets launched more shots in the game than the 6.0 per game they average.

Hibbing / Chisholm was led by Joe Kanipes, who scored the team's only goal. Kanipes scored on the power play 12:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hibbing / Chisholm. The Bluejackets earned a power play opportunity when Jacob Holmers was put in the box for interference. Dylan Pechovnik assisted on the tally.

Ryan Bischel made 11 saves for Benilde-St. Margarets on 12 shots. The Red Knights totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Hibbing / Chisholm's AJ Allison stopped 48 shots out of the 54 that he faced. The Bluejackets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
