Derby Claims Victory Over Wichita Wildcats 5-2

Derby Twins outsted Wichita Wildcats College 5-2 on Wednesday at 801 E Market St.

 

Wichita Wildcats College got on the board in the first inning after Parker Clubb singled, scoring one run.

 

Derby Twins took the lead in the bottom of the third. Noah Allison homered to left field, scoring two runs, to give Derby Twins the upper hand, 2-1.

 

Dawson Robbins hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth for the Derby Twins.

 

Lucas Weaver earned the win for Derby Twins. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Jayce Meyer took the loss for Wichita Wildcats College. The lefty went four innings, giving up three runs on three hits, striking out four and walking four. Peyton Walters collected the save.

 

Noah Allison drove the middle of the lineup, leading Derby Twins with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Dawson Robbins, Derby Twins's number nine hitter, led the team with two hits in four at-bats. Kade Sheldon led Derby Twins with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.

 

Parker Clubb led Wichita Wildcats College with one run batted in. The left fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Jackson Ellison, Gunner Hewitt, Parker Clubb, and Sam Soderstrom each collected one hit for Wichita Wildcats College.

 

Derby Twins will travel to Newton Rebels for their next game on Thursday.
