Orlando, Fl. - The Orlando Snappers (16-10) racked up a post fourth of July victory 4-2 against the DeLand Suns (9-16).

Brett Dennis (Florida Southwestern) was Orlando’s starting pitcher, and he set the tone early for the Snapper going 4 innings deep while allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 6.

Hutson Guinn (Eastern Florida) took care of putting the hosts on the board first after a moon shot of a home run in the second inning to make it 1-0 Snappers.

After the Suns tied things up in the 4th, Orlando retook the lead in the bottom of the inning scoring 3 unanswered runs.

Hayden Gustavson (LA Tech) picked up the first RBI of the inning with a sacrifice fly to center field that brought home Matt Farner (Undecided)

Rashad Robinson (University of West Alabama) followed him with a 2-RBI double to make it a 4-1 ballgame.

With the score intact, the visitors tried chipping back into their deficit and scored 1 run in the 8th inning.

However, that is all they would get as their comeback fell 2 runs short and the Snappers came out victorious in this low-scoring affair.

Blake Fields (University of Houston) was the only Snapper with a multi-hit ballgame going 2-3 with a walk on the night.

Orlando will look to sweep the Suns on Sunday, July 6th when they travel to DeLand for the second game of this 2-game set with first pitch set for 5:00pm from Conrad Park.
