Twins Defeat Wildcats 10-4

Joel Lindahl collected three hits in five at bats, as Derby Twins defeated Wichita Wildcats College 10-4 on Friday at 801 E Market St. Joel Lindahl hit a solo home run to center field in the sixth inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning.

 

Derby Twins were the first to get on the board in the first when Rolen Driskoll singled, scoring one run.

 

A single by Joel Lindahl extended the Derby Twins lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

 

Wichita Wildcats College scored one run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to left field by Landon Haines.

 

Cooper Scott homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth for the Derby Twins.

 

Derby Twins scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Joel Lindahl on an 0-2 count.

 

Noah Allison hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the seventh for the Derby Twins.

 

Alex Morrison earned the win for Derby Twins. The righty allowed two hits and one run over six innings, striking out eight and walking five. Van Haneberg took the loss for Wichita Wildcats College. The starter went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out one and walking three. Riley Kettner appeared in relief for Derby Twins.

 

Cooper Scott provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Derby Twins with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Noah Allison collected two hits for Derby Twins in five at bats. Daniel Craig led Derby Twins with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Derby Twins turned one double play in the game.

 

Landon Haines provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Wichita Wildcats College with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Parker Clubb paced Wichita Wildcats College with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Wichita Wildcats College didn't commit a single error in the field. Landon Haines had the most chances in the field with 10.

 

Derby Twins welcome Newton Rebels on Saturday for their next game.
