Twins Rally in the 9th to Defeats Wildcats 10-7

Despite trailing by as many as four runs, Derby Twins rallied to defeat Wichita Wildcats College 10-7 on Thursday at 712 Butler Rd.

 

Derby Twins got on the board in the second inning after Rolen Driskoll homered to left field, scoring two runs.

 

Parker Clubb homered to left field, which helped Wichita Wildcats College tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.

 

Wichita Wildcats College jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when Jackson Ellison hit a solo home run to left field, Landon Haines singled, scoring one run, and Parker Clubb homered to left field, scoring two runs.

 

Derby Twins flipped the game on its head in the top of the ninth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 10-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Joel Lindahl that drove in two.

 

Alejandro Vanegas started on the mound for Derby Twins. The starter surrendered eight hits and seven runs (five earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Colton Roberts stepped on the mound first for Wichita Wildcats College. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one and walking five. Brandon Enders, Peyton Walters, and Justin Zerger each threw shutout innings for Derby Twins in relief.

 

Derby Twins piled up 14 hits in the game. Joel Lindahl and Caden Richards were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Derby Twins while hitting back-to-back. Rolen Driskoll and Caden Richards each drove in three runs for Derby Twins. Tyson Owens and Ramon Martinez each collected multiple hits for Derby Twins. Daniel Craig paced Derby Twins with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Derby Twins turned one double play in the game.

 

Wichita Wildcats College tallied 10 hits in the game. Parker Clubb drove the middle of the lineup, leading Wichita Wildcats College with four runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Landon Haines, Jackson Ellison, Jackson Witt, and Parker Clubb each collected two hits for Wichita Wildcats College. Wichita Wildcats College turned one double play in the game. Wichita Wildcats College were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Jackson Ellison made the most plays with nine.
