NEWPORT, R.I. – The 2025 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) regular season kicks off on
Tuesday, June 3rd. Some of the nation’s top collegiate players will compete in a 44-game season, all vying for the
coveted Fay Vincent Sr. Cup.

The Newport Gulls open on the road, facing the Valley Blue Sox at Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke, Mass., at 6:35
p.m. Newport swept Valley 2-0 in the first round of the 2024 NECBL Playoffs.

Newport’s home opener is Wednesday, June 4th, at 6:35 p.m. against the Vermont Mountaineers at Cardines Field.
The game will be sponsored by University Orthopedics, and Aquidneck Pizza will give away 1,000 free magnet
schedules. Come out to see the reigning 2024 champions in action!

The Gulls are back on the road Thursday, June 5th, to play the Mystic Schooners at Fitch High School at 6:30 p.m.,
before hosting the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks at Cardines Field on Friday, June 6th, at 6:35 p.m. Friday’s game is
Little League Night, presented by A-1 Roofing & Construction, with free entry for all kids in uniform.

Newport’s first off-day is Saturday, June 7th. They’ll then travel to face the Bristol Blues at Muzzy Field on Sunday,
June 8th, at 5:00 p.m.

President and General Manager Chuck Paiva shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming season:

season.
