Date:  Source: BCPBL/PBL - Victoria Eagles

Three players were recognized by their coaching staff this week for their efforts during the first week of action in league play.

The Golden Eagle of the Week is awarded to an Eagle player who demonstrates the highest standard of inspiration, strength and resilience. Qualities we value in our organization, on and off the field.

Week 1: March 31 - April 6

Premier: Garen Geoghegan, who soared above the competition with an outstanding performance on the mound. Last week, Garen pitched an impressive 5.1 innings, racking up 7 strikeouts while keeping the opposing team scoreless, delivering a masterclass in precision and control. His resilience shone through as he maintained composure under pressure, shutting down every scoring threat. Garen’s strength was evident not just in his arm but in his unwavering focus, inspiring his teammates to elevate their game.

Junior: Will Henzi, due to his excellent offensive performance against the Pirates. Henzi went a combined 6 for 8 over the 2 game set with 2 doubles, 5 RBI’s, 2 stolen bases and one walk. He also scored 4 runs himself totalling 8 bases.

Bantam: Silas Shute, who set the tone on the mound in the season opener against the Nanaimo Pirates. Silas consistently represents Eagles standards through his focus, effort, and love for the game. He brings an energy and attitude to the field that lifts his teammates and makes him someone everyone wants to play with.

Congratulations!
