SANFORD, Maine – The Sanford Mainers must wait another day for their chance to advance to the second round of the NECBL Postseason after Friday’s game against the Keene SwampBats was postponed due to inclement weather.

The second game of the opening round matchup will slide back a full 24 hours with first pitch now scheduled for 6:35 p.m. on Saturday at Alumni Field. Saturday’s game will stream exclusively on ESPN+ but can also be heard on 1220AM/104.3 Seacoast Oldies and seacoastoldies.com.

Sanford took the first game of the best-of-three series behind a combined shutout effort by Connor Ball (Alabama) and Beau Brailey (Alabama). The Mainers were eying a sweep of the series to allow an off day on Saturday before the second round.

Regardless of Saturday’s result, Sanford will be in action on Sunday. The Mainers will either host the SwampBats for a decisive third game or will see a new team as the second round of the playoffs begins.
