No Hitter, Cohesion, and Calmness Push Locos To A Sweep
Date: Jun 9, 2025
The Scouts handily defeated the Locos 13-4 a day ago at Simmons Field. The Scouts now boast a record of 11-16 and the Locos are 15-12.
Ryan Yingst started the game for Lima. In 2 innings of work, he allowed 4 hits, 4 runs, and 1 walk.
Xenia took the lead in the 1st inning and never gave it back. Jake McNamara hit a 2-run home run to left and Will Lawrence hit a solo shot to center to make it 3-0.
Brenden Holland was tasked with the start for Xenia. He pitched 6 total innings and allowed 1 run through 6, but he ran into trouble in the 7th and was pulled with no outs and the bases loaded. He ended the day with 4 allowed runs and 3 strikeouts. This line was good enough to give him the win.
Offensively for the Locos, Sebastian Alexander hit a solo home run in the 6th, and Justin Gorski and Blake Bowen knocked in the other 3 Loco runs in the 7th.
McNamara ended the day with 4 runs batted in for the Scouts. Ruiz, Winzenread, Wu, Lynch, and Lawrence each batted in at least 1 run as well.
The Locos' next outing will be tomorrow against the Copperheads.
