The Locos ran over Grand Lake in the 2024 GLSCL regular season finale 18-7. The game concluded after 7 innings due to the league’s run rule rule in place.

Hunter Allen started the contest for the Locos. He pitched 2 innings, allowed 2 runs and 2 hits, stuck out 2, and walked 2. Jacob Emerson entered the game in relief in the 3rd, pitched 3.1 innings, and picked up the win.

Mason Reyes started for the Mariners. He left the game during the 2nd inning after allowing 10 runs off of 6 hits. Both Hunter Reagan and Johnny Nixon each pitched during the game as well.

Lima batted around in the 1st inning. Sebastian Alexander hit an RBI double to get the scoring underway. After a few Alexander steals, Landon Tate scored Alexander after hitting a single. Andrew Stechshulte then followed that up by launching a ball off the wall to score 2 more Locos. The final runs of the inning were driven in by a Caden Lockwood single to make it 6-0 Lima.

After another quick Grand Lake half inning the Locos batted again. Sebastian Alexander got on base again and was scored by Landon Tate. With the bases loaded and not an out the Mariners went to the bullpen. Andrew Stechshulte then proceeded to work a walk to get an RBI and Caden Lockwood was hit by a pitch right after, 9-0. With still no one out Bo Shinkle stepped up to the plate and put one on the ground and Stephen Di Corrado, the Mariner’s 1st basemen, could not make the play and 2 more runs scored. The final run in the inning came thanks to a Sebastian Alexander RBI single.

In the top of the 3rd Grand Lake finally got on the board. Both Ty Davis and Jackson Rains both got RBI groundouts after Emerson and Bryant reached. The score now stood at 12-2.

In the bottom of the 3rd and 4th Lima scored 4 more runs total. Brice Estep launched one deep to left with a runner on base to make it 14-2, then Sebastian Alexander did the same the following inning, making it 16-2.

In the latter innings, Grand Lake scored a total of 5 runs and the Locos scored 2. On the Lima side, Dane Ebel and Landon Tate each picked up an RBI in inning number 6.

The Locos are now in the postseason and hold the 2nd seed. They have a round 1 matchup against 1st place Hamilton starting tomorrow in Lima.
