No Hitter, Cohesion, and Calmness Push Locos To A Sweep

The Locos defeated the Scouts 12-4 in yesterday’s series opener. The Loco bats were on fire as well. They outhit the Scouts 13 to 7.
Dane Ebel started the game for Lima and picked up his first win of 2024. The only run he allowed was an unearned one in the 1st inning. Noah Ruiz scored from 3rd after a Will Lawrence base knock.
Ryne Kaiser started the game for Xenia. In the 1st inning, he allowed 4 runs. Justin Gorski scored 1st. Liam Richards and Blake Bowen were knocked in by Sebastian Alexander who was later hit in by Brooks Wright.
After a quick 2nd inning the Locos tacked on 2 more runs to extend their lead to 6-1. Landon Tate hit a 2 RBI single to center field with 2 outs in the inning that scored Brooks Wright and Tyler Herron. Then in the 4th, the Locos scored twice more after Kaden Brown hit a 2 RBI double to right field.
The 5th inning was quick for both sides. Lima left the inning with an 8-1 lead and Dane Ebel was in line for the win. To start the 6th Griffin Howe entered the game for Lima. After Troy Lynch got on base Will Lawrence hit a high fly ball to straightaway center field that left the yard making the score 8-3.
In the 7th inning, both teams scored. Jake McNamara hit a ground ball to short that scored Zarko from 3rd. In the bottom of the 7th Andrew Hickman entered the game to pitch for Xenia. In the inning, Tyler Herron hit a sac fly to right field, Landon Tate scored Wright, and Justin Gorski scored Lockwood.
In the 8th inning, Blake Bowen knocked in Liam Richards to make the score 12-4.
Lima will travel to Xenia tonight for game 2 of the 3-game series.
