Big First Inning and Five Homeruns Break Five Game Drought...

The Locos defeated the Clippers 5-2 yesterday to move to 13-10 and drop the Clippers to 13-7.
Thomas Howard started for the Locos and looked terrific. His final line consisted of 5 innings of work, 1 allowed run, and boosted an ERA under 1. He also picked up his 2nd win of 2024 for Lima.
Benjamin Kochany started for the Clippers. He pitched 4 innings and allowed 5 runs off of 8 hits. He picked up his 1st loss of the year.
The Locos started off the game with a bang, scoring 2 runs after allowing 0 in the top of the 1st. Lou Fujiwara scored Gorski after hitting an RBI double. Later in the inning, Alexander scored Fujiwara by hitting a RBI single to left.
After blanking the Clippers in the top of the 2nd, the Locos scored twice more to double their lead. Bo Shinkle hit a home run, scoring himself and Tate.
After a quick 3rd inning on both sides, the Locos scored again in the 4th inning. Lou Fujiwara hit a sac fly to right field, allowing Bo Shinkle to score.
In the 5th, down 5-0, the Clippers managed to score their first run of the game. Justin Osterhouse scored Carson McCoy with an RBI single.
Skyler Lhamon entered the game in the 6th inning for Lima and dealt 2 no-hit innings. The only run he allowed was in the 8th inning. Justin Osterhouse hit a home run to right-center field to make it 5-2.
Lhamon shut the door and picked up the save in the 9th inning, putting the Clippers down in order.
The Locos have a 4th of July, series decider tonight if the weather permits.
