No Hitter, Cohesion, and Calmness Push Locos To A Sweep
Date: Jun 9, 2025
Yesterday Lima picked up its 5th consecutive win with a dominating victory over Michigan 9-1.
Matteo Pare started for the Locos and looked fantastic. He pitched 6 shut-out innings and allowed just 3 hits. He now has a season record of 3-0 and a 1.80 earned run average. Offensively, Brooks Wright knocked in 3 runs after singling in the 3rd. Gorski knocked in a run in the 7th and in the 8th Landon Tate knocked in another run. The Locos scored 4 times in the top of the 9th. 2 of their 4 runs that inning were scored on a bases-loaded walk. It is also worth noting Carter Parks got a 3-inning save.
Johnny Nixon started the game for the Mariners. He pitched 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. After being given the loss, his season record is 1-3. The Mariners’ only run was scored in the 7th inning. Jackson Rains hit an RBI double.
Game 2 of the 3-game set will be played in Lima tonight.
