Friday night(6/7/24) Muskegon took down Lima 8-3. The Clippers grabbed the lead in the bottom half of the 1st inning and didn’t give it back.
Kaden Brown had both RBI for the Locos. He hit a 2-run home run in the first to give the Locos the early lead. The Locos’ third run came in the 7th inning. It was an unearned one after an Austin Ciceron fielding error at 3rd allowing Shinkle to score. Calvin Urish started on the mound for Lima and pitched 2.1 innings. He allowed 9 hits and 7 runs giving him a 27.00 ERA. Ryan Yingst entered the game in relief and pitched 5.2 no-hit innings. He allowed 1 run, struck out 3, and walked 3. He finished the game with a 1.59 ERA.
Ethan Baird, Diego Pena, Cooper Hums, and Carson McCoy all knocked in runs for the Clippers. Chase Raymond started the game for Muskegon and pitched 3.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Cooper Apigian then entered the game and also pitched 3.2 innings. The only run that scored well he was pitching was an unearned one and Apigian was credited the win. Jacob Pallo finished the game on the mound for the Clippers boasting a 0.00 ERA and allowed 2 hits.
The Locos take on the Clippers again tonight at 7:05 for game 2 of the 3-game set.
