Date:  Source: Northern Collegiate Hockey League

Semifinal #2 - #2 DePaul University shuts out  #3 Marquette University for return to the finals:
Six minutes and 18 seconds into semifinal #2 Lukas Theodosopolous hit far side from the right dot to give DePaul the early lead. After multiple powerplay chances by both teams during the ensuing seven minutes DePaul broke through and increased their lead to two with a powerplay goal by Danny Mannarino at 13:12. Marquette found a bit more of a sustained presence in the DePaul zone over the remainder of the period but were just a smidge off, keeping them from their first goal of the game.

Marquette found themselves on the power play 32 seconds into the second period. Despite spending most of the time in the DePaul zone Marquette could not produce any good scoring chances and was unable to score. DePaul created a 3-on-1 and Michael Helf was the beneficiary of a pass from Billy Paschen at 5:37 to put DePaul up 3-0. After DePaul weathered two penalty kills, they capitalized on their own at 18:57. Chris Lee found an off the mark shot by Mannarino bounce onto his stick and he promptly fired a shot into the open net.

On the powerplay to start the third period, Marquette needed to get the goose egg off the scoreboard. Unfortunately for Marquette, DePaul was able to kill the penalty and the score remained 4-0. DePaul went on the powerplay at 7:20 and needed all of seven seconds before Lee, sitting in the high slot, one-timed a pass from Helf into the upper corner. Theodosopolous chipped the puck over the stick of the DePaul defender and beat Daniel Leger for DePaul’s sixth unanswered goal at 8:32. A high sticking penalty on Marquette gave the DePaul powerplay another chance at 17:04. This time they were able to convert off of a Brock Ash snapshot from the top of the slot at 18:00. When the final second ticked off the clock DePaul took the 7-0 victory and earned a rematch with Concordia University WI in the finals.
