The Best Dressed Team in BC™ was cruising in Esquimalt for most of the evening, peppering 55 shots on goal to the Arrows 19. But despite having the game under control for most of the game, the Blazers managed to burn out a few bulbs on the penalty clock. 40 minutes in penalties. Yikes.
 

Blazers star Jake Carder made his season debut for the Blazers, potting 2 goals. Nick Miller and Andrew McMillan also had 2 goals apiece. With the win, the Blazers improve to 2-2-1 on the VILL season. So far their only wins have been against the Arrows though. They'll be looking to change that next week.
 

Archie Browning was rocking once again, hungry for free fast paced VILL action. Fire marshals confirmed the crowd was indeed below the posted arena capacity limit. Speaking of fire marshals, Canadian film star, painter, and all-around icon Jim Carrey, who famously played Fire Marshal Bill on the comedy sketch show 'In Living Color', was in the stands. When asked to comment on the game, Carrey replied, “Who is Jim? My name isn't Jim. The game was fine. Hey, have you seen any keys? I accidentally flung them somewhere. Subaru key, house key, and a couple piano keys. Just kidding – no piano keys. OK fine, I am Jim Carrey.”
 

The Blazers return to action next week where they play a few late games against the top teams in the league, 9 pm Tuesday vs the high flying Saanich Express, and Thursday 9 pm against their historic rivals the Victoria Jokers. Both games are at Archie Browning in Esquimalt. Don't miss it – admission is free!
