2021 Season

Date:  Source: Cincinnati Steam

Welcome back to another exciting season of Cincinnati Steam Baseball.  After taking the 2020 season off due to Covid-19, the Steam are all aboard and ready for our 2 month cruise, as we look to celebrate the Cincinnati Steam's 15th Season, presented by Champions Grille, your postgame party destination.

We will be doing some travelling this summer as we have departed our annual summer destination of Max McLeary Field and Right Field Beach Club on the campus of Western Hills High School.  This season we will have a floating/rotating and mobile Max McLeary Field.  We will be setting sail and making several stops all around the Greater Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky area.

Our home schedule features games at UC Health Stadium in Florence, KY, home of the Frontier League Florence Y'alls, who will be making their presence known in what will now be their inaugural season under new ownership and their new team name.  We want to thank the Florence Y'alls for the new partnership and looking for fun and exciting things this season.  In addition to Florence, we will be making stops at the P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy in Roselawn.  Thanks to the cooperation of the Reds Community Fund we will be strengthening and furthering our relationship with them.  And last but certainly not least we will throw our anchor down on two Saturday afternoons on the Westside of Cincinnati at the Panther Athletic Complex (PAC) home of the Elder Panthers.

The league has made some adjustments to scheduling due to Covid.  First, the Southern Ohio Copperheads (Athens, OH), will be taking the year off due to restrictions placed on them by Ohio University that would have made playing there this summer too much.  Secondly, the league was split into North and South.  Lastly, there will be no crossover games until the Championships at the end of July.  We are still playing a 42 season but we will be playing games against the Hamilton Joes, Richmond Jazz, Xenia Scouts, Ohio Bison (formally the Licking County Settlers in Newark, OH) and a new team to the league based in Circleville, OH (outskirts of Columbus) the Ohio Marlins, who will play their games at Ohio Christian University.

The season will be christened, not with the customary bottle of champagne, but with the crack of the bat and ball at UC Health Stadium on Friday June 4, at 7:05pm, against the Hamilton Joes.  This should be a huge night as two local teams battle on opening day at the beautiful ballpark in Florence.  So mark your calendars and don't miss this historic first pitch of the Cincinnati Steam's 15th Season, presented by Champions Grille, your postgame party destination for your Cincinnati Steam.
