The Oilers are preparing to head into the 2021 season with  AJ LaMonda at the helm as General Manager.  AJ is an assistant coach at national powerhouse Orange Lutheran High School where he leads the offense for the Lancers. At his time at Orange Lutheran the Lancers have won the National High School Invitational 3 consecutive years, won 3 league championships and has helped the Lancers make numerous playoff appearances. AJ primarily works with hitters, many of whom are playing Division 1 ranks as well as the minor leagues. AJ also works in the development program for USA Baseball that helps identify players to represent our country to play in numerous tournaments.

As a player AJ attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California where he received a degree in Anatomy and Physiology with minors in both Psychology and Biology. He played from 2004-2008 for the Lions where he played 200 games at first base, second base, third base and left field. LaMonda ended his career with a .289 average, 8 home runs, 106 RBIs and 116 runs scored. He was the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards Finalist at first base for the 2005 season. He received All Conference Honors in 2005, 2007 and 2008 at two separate positions. After college AJ played in the Phillies Organization for half a season and began his coaching career shortly thereafter.

AJ is from Orange, California where he is a baseball coach and science teacher. He has a beautiful three-year-old daughter Ava, who is looking forward to her trip to the Peninsula for a summer visit. AJ is a former teammate of previous general manager Kyle Brown, where they spent two years together at Servite High School in Anaheim, California. AJ is excited for this amazing opportunity and can’t wait to be a part of our Oiler family.
