Sodbusters come from behind to beat Sabre Dogs

The Hastings Sodbusters came from behind to beat Souris Valley, 9-4. It was the Sodbusters first game at Duncan Field in eight days and only their second win within the brick walls.

The Grand Island duo of Cole Evans and Casey Burnham paced the offense, combined they had five of the teams nine hits. Evans went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs while Burham went 2-for-3 and had four stolen bases.

Jeremy Schneider started for the Sodbusters. After allowing three runs in the first inning, he settled down going for 4.0 innings, striking out five. In the seventh inning, Reese Dutton took the mound and the Sabre Dogs barely touched him. Dutton closed out the game allowing one hit, striking out six.

The Sodbusters and Sabre Dogs take Duncan Field Friday, July 10. First pitch at 6:35 p.m.
