Grand Island Hosts Sodbusters Game
Date: Jul 14, 2021
After losing a close game at home to the defending champions, Hastings hit the road for 5 days. In an extra inning game on Tuesday night, the Sodbusters fell to the Pierre Trappers 5-4, before blowing them out 23-9 in a cold and rainy night that saw a total of 34 walks and 25 strike outs before finally ending after nearly 4 hours. Weather cancelled the rubber match and the 'Busters headed East to play the Moo again.
In both contests, the 6th innings would end up being killers. Tied or ahead in both contests going into the bottom of the 6th, the Sodbusters would give up 4 and 5 runs Friday and Saturday, respectively. The big innings by the Moo would prove to be too much. The Sodbusters dropped both games in Fremont and are now 2-4 in the young season.
Sodbusters have a day off Sunday and will host the Fremont Moo on Memorial Day, May 31st.
