Western Nebraska scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning on their way to an 11-3 victory over the Hastings Sodbusters on Tuesday night at Duncan Field.

The Pioneers spread the wealth throughout the night as all but one starter scored at least one run.

Bradley Mullan got the nod for Western Nebraska and allowed one hit through 5.0 innings of work to pick up the win, striking out five of the 21 batters he faced. Cameron Skinner scattered four hits and a couple of runs in 3.0 innings with most of the damage done during the eighth inning when Hastings scored twice.

Hastings entered the game as the Expedition League's hottest team, winning seven of the last 10 and moving into first place of the Clark Division by a few percentage points. For Western Nebraska, the win moves within a game of the Soddies in the standings. These two meet again at the same place on Thursday with a 6:35 p.m. start.
