The New Tecumseth Civics are proud to announce they have signed defenseman Vladislav Nikiforov for the upcoming 2020-2021 season

 

Nikiforov, from Kazakhstan, played Major Junior last season in Russia suiting up for Snezhnye Barsy Astana in the MHL. Nikiforov played in 24 games of the top level junior hockey and was able to register an assist while providing excellent d zone coverage. Nikiforov was also selected to the team Kazakhstan U20 International junior team where he represented his country proudly.

 

Prior to playing in the MHL Nikiforov Played Kazakhstan U20 for Arlan Kokshetau U20 where he showed superb offensive skill from the blue like registering 28 Points including 9 goals in 32 games, he also played U16 for Ertis Pavlodar U18 and had 12 points in 21 games.

 

Civics GM Jordan Richardson was very excited to be adding the 2000 born Nikiforov to a defense corps that is shaping up to be the best the Civics have had in years, “ Vladislav has played at the top level of junior hockey in Russia and we have personally seen that type of success translate very well here in the GMHL. He will be expected to come in and set an example for younger players on how to act on and off the ice and we fully expect he will be successful in doing so! I can’t wait for the season to start and adding him is another reason why we are expecting to be a top contender this season.
