The ACHA's initial rankings have come out and BYU is starting the season at #13, but it comes with an asterisk because of teams who failed to meet the requirements for good standing with the ACHA.  Even so, had those teams maintained their good standing, BYU would still be at #18.

In spite of a slow start, the team has started to see some successes by narrowing the point differential with some of the west's toughest teams, several of whom are here in Utah. 

The win this weekend against Montana State (who were initially ranked #4) was too soon to have played into this week's rankings, but will certainly help as the Cougars prepare for a Colorado road trip and will have a good effect on moving BYU up in the rankings.
