WINTER WORKOUTS for all 2007-2010 birth years

The Minor Bantam Black Sox participated in a tournament in London this past weekend, July 12-14.
Game one featured a matchup with the u14 Royal York Cardinals, with the Sox winning the contest 15-1. Cole Masse took the win on the mound, going 5 innings allowing one earned run while striking out 7. Connor Bruzas and Carmine Perna each added 3 hits apiece.
The Sox carried this momentum into game 2 with another strong performance, beating the u14 Aurora Jays 12-2. Connor Bruzas got the win on the mound, going 4 innings allowing 2 earned runs.
Game three saw the Sox lose a closely contested battle to the London Tecumseh’s 7-5. Despite the loss, the Soo was able to carry their 2-1 record to qualify for Sunday morning’s round of games.
The final matchup pitted the Sox against Barrie. Despite the Soo carrying a lead throughout, Barrie was able to claw back in the final inning to take the game 7-5. The Soo scattered hits across the board, coming off the bats of Wesley Pomeroy, Ty Beaupre, Cole Masse, Jaxon Alexander, and Michael Starzomski who added a double.
Overall, the tournament was a successful building block for the Minor Bantams as they head into the back half of the season.
Next action for the Soo Minor team is a double header against Soo Michigan on July 22nd.
