The Soo Rookie Ball Black Sox were over the border July 12th to play a double header at Malcolm Park against a strong hitting Soo Michigan squad. 

 Coming off a solid performance and victory in league play Thursday night the boys were ready to face this challenge. In a very tight first game the Canadian Soo edged the host team by a score of 6-5. After a quick break the teams took the field for game 2 where Soo Michigan got off to a strong start taking an early lead. The Black Sox kept the game in reach to set up for a dramatic finish. Trailing by 6 in the final inning with last home team at bats the boys plugged away one run at a time until a bases loaded double by Everett Vresk brought the team within one. After a few more two out hits Richard Cond singled to score Wyatt Meakin for a walk off 10-9 victory.

The two SOO teams will battle once again Tuesday July 23 at Sinclair. Game time is 7:30pm.
