Toronto, ON – The Toronto Mets family grew by one this week as 14u Coach Denis Bailey and his wife welcomed their baby girl, Adriana. Congratulations to the Baily family and welcome to the Toronto Mets family Adriana. 

 

On the field, the Toronto Mets had another successful week, with a number of great performances.

 

The 14u Toronto Mets hit .378 has a team with 14 doubles. Tarek Emara (Pickering, ON) was on fire going 7-14 with 7 doubles and 7 RBI’s. Johnny Mantia (Toronto, ON) went 7-13 with 6 RBI’sOwen Shepherd (Toronto, ON)Calvin Warrillow (Toronto, ON) and Caden Reed (Whitby, ON)all had 4 RBI’s each on the weekend. 

 

The 15u Toronto Mets were led offensively by a break out weekend for Jacob Rodin (Toronto, ON) in game one he played an outstanding second base and got a big hit for an RBI.  In game 3, he had a big hit again, tripling and scoring a run.  He also did an outstanding job pitching in game 3 as well.  Alex Guest (Whitby, ON) was a mammoth force with 4 doubles in 3 games.  He was a pillar of strength behind the plate where he threw out 2 base-runners during the Sunday series.

 

 

16u Seredareceived a boost from callup Aaron Manias (Uxbridge, ON)who had three hits and 3 RBI’s in a mid-week contest. Landon Bentley (Courtice, ON)threw six strong innings picking up the victory. Alessandro Strazzeri (North York, ON) Bryce Elias (Toronto, ON) and Sam Brooke (Thornhill, ON) all had 2 hits. Elias also picked up the save. On the weekend, 16u Sereda had a number of notable performances. Tyler Hill (Richmond Hill, ON) had a triple and 3 RBI’s. Jack and Alex Pineau (Thunder Bay, ON) made their season debut and contributed with a double from Alex, and 2 hits and 2 RBI’s from Jack. Elias added to his impressive week with a couple of hits. Tyler Chong (Markham, ON) would add a double and a victory on the mound. Jonah Feldstein (Toronto, ON) contributed with 2 hits and 2 RBI’s. Justin Murray (Markham, ON) picked up 2 hits and scored 4 runs to pace his weekend. Cam Noble (Bowmanville, ON) and Liam Barlow (Burlington, ON) drove in a couple of runs each. Bentley was just as impressive at the plate as on the mound this week by adding 4 RBI’s to his win on the mound. Ethan Marriot (Cobourg, ON) had a bid day going 3-4 and knocking in 4 runs.

 

 

16u Watt had a 4-game win streak this week and LHP Jacob Smith (Kingston, ON) picks up two wins to start and the week. Paveen Singh (Brampton, ON) picked up 3 hits and 3 RBI’s in game one. Russel Agar (Caledon, ON) was 2-3 with 2 RBI’s. Ryan Mattes (Whitby, ON) picked up the win in game two throw 5 strong innings. Offensively the team was led by Alex Scoular (Whitby, ON) 2-2 3 runs and 2 walks. Ewan Ferguson (Toronto, ON) 2-3 with a run and walk. Charlie Iriotakis (Toronto, ON) 2-4 2 runs and 2 RBI’s. Game 3 had Joe Kuin (Peterborough, ON) with 2 innings of work. Mattes continued his strong weekend with a 3-4 performance at the plate. Josh McGuin (Toronto, ON) had a hit and RBI. Cooper Reed (Cobourg, ON) and Wendel Johnson (Whitby, ON) picked up a hit each. In Game 4, Will Droll (Thunder Bay, ON) and Alex Scoular led the way picking up 3 hits each. Scoular would add 3 RBI’s in the contest. 
 



17u Reid was very strong offensively pounding out 15 doubles as a team in 5 games this week. Justin Carinci (Ajax, ON) continues to carry the offence going 10-16 on the week with 3 doubles and 5 RBI’s out of the leadoff spot. Quinton McRae (Oshawa, ON) had a big week going 8-16 with two doubles, a triple and homerun. Cameron Papp (Toronto, ON) enjoyed a massive week going 6-14 3 doubles, and a monster homerun. He would add 9 RBI’s and score 3 runs. Robert Battista (Toronto, ON) had five hits for the week, and Cole Iantomasi (Whitby, ON) went 6-12, including 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s. Caden Shapiro (Toronto, ON) was great on the mound throwing 5 shutout innings striking out 8 batters over his two appearances. He would also add 5 RBI’s at the plate. Adam Khan (Aurora, ON) was great on the mound pitching a very strong 5 innings scattering 7 hits, striking out 4 and walking zero batters. 

 

17u Maury Jake Bucovetsky (Toronto, ON) was the performer of the week for the Toronto Mets. Swiss Army Knife Bucovetsky hit .583, OBP .683 with 7 hits, 6 RBI, including a Sunday cycle.  Played 1B, 3B, SS, LF an pitched 2.0 in earning a save. Rowan Radzinski (Whitby, ON) hit .583 with an OBP of .688 that included 7 hits. Evan Soules (Stayner, ON) pitched 4.2 strong innings striking out 4 batters walking nobody. Michael Watson (Claremont, ON) and Chris Bayley (Toronto, ON) threw 2 plus innings of scoreless relief. Cameron Byberg (Whitby, ON) was strong on the mound throwing 3.2 innings striking out 8 batters.
