Team ALLIANCE wins the bronze game 8-2

Kitchener, Ont. – Team ALLIANCE wins the bronze game 8-2 over Team OMHA White.

 

Maddox Callens gave Team ALLIANCE an early lead from Raymond Hamlin, Sam Sedley.

OMHA White tied it up with a power play goal by Parker Hendsbee from Cole Patey.

 

Team ALLIANCE pulled ahead shortly after with two goals before the second intermission from Brett Harrison (Luc Brzustowski, Ryan Burke) and Deni Goure (Ryan Burke, Brett Harrison).

 

Ethan Burroughs shortened the gap for Team OMHA White with an unassisted goal at 30 seconds, however Team ALLIANCE scored 5 straight to seal the teams win. The first coming from Landon McCallum (Nicholas Beneteau), Ryan Burke got his first shortly after – unassisted. Marko Sikic sent home a feed from Burke, Burke then found the net himself one more time from Marko Sikic, Brayden Hislop and Cooper Way sealed their fate on the power play from Raymond Hamlin with ten seconds to go.

The OHL Gold Cup is an annual showcase event featuring top under-16 talent in Ontario. As part of the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence (POE), players competing at the OHL Gold Cup have an opportunity to be evaluated for invitation to the national under-17 development camp, where Hockey Canada gathers the top talent from across the country to introduce players to the national team program and provide a foundation of development as they progress through the POE.
