Alumni Vavaroutsos named PSAC Easter Division Athlete of the Week

Shippensburg University freshman Anthony Vavaroutsos was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Baseball Athlete of the Week on Monday by the league office after an impressive four-game weekend series against Le Moyne.
 
Overall, Vavaroutsos was 7-for-13 (.538) with three home runs, a double, 11 RBIs, two walks and seven runs scored. He reached base in nine of his 15 plate appearances and posted a 1.308 slugging percentage.
 
On Saturday, Vavaroutsos slammed a pair of three-run home runs in Game 1 and finished the day 5-for-7 at the plate with three extra-base hits and nine RBIs. In Game 1, Vavaroutsos was 3-for-3 with six RBIs and three runs. On Sunday, he homered in his first at-bat of Game 2, a two-run shot to center field.
 
He entered the weekend with just one RBI on the year, and is now second on the team with 12.
 
Vavaroutsos is the first Raider to be named PSAC East Athlete of the Week since Drew Bene on Mar. 12, 2018.
