FIVE METS NAMED TO JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAM

Date:  Source: Toronto Mets

The Toronto Mets are extremely proud to announce that five players have been named to the Junior National Team.

Keegan Pulford-Thorpe a 2019 Central Florida commit headlines the group. The big LHP from Newmarket Ontario has been a member of the JNT since 2017.

Noah Hull will be making his second appearance for the Junior Team. Hull, a 2019 Iowa Western commit gained National attention when he was named the MVP of the Baseball Canada Cup that resulted in a Gold Medal for Ontario.

Noel McGarry-Doyle will also be making his second appearance with the National Team. The strong left-handed showed he belonged with the best in the Country when he was named to Toronto Blue Jays Tournament 12 roster. McGarry-Doyle will be heading to Jefferson College in Missouri for the fall of 2019.

Ryan Leitch, a 2019 Marshall University commit, will be making his first Junior National Team appearance. The power hitting catcher from Whitby Ontario, had a very strong 2018 summer season that included making the Toronto Blue Jays Tournament 12 roster.

Mitchell Bratt, a 2021 uncommitted LHP from Newmarket Ontario is the youngest of the five players named to Junior National Team. This will be Bratt's second time with the National Team. The hard throwing LHP has had a 2018 summer to remember. Bratt ended his summer as a National Champion winning the Gold medal with the Brampton Royals. He was named to the Toronto Blue Jays Tournament 12 Future Team roster in the fall, which led to him being named to the National Team for the first time.

In the time that the Toronto Mets have been in existence, numerous players have had the opportunity to participate at higher levels of baseball as they develop their skills.  One, if not the highest level of Amateur acheivement in Canada is participating in Baseball Canada's National Junior team development camps and tournaments.

Through the tireless work of Canada's Junior National Team Coach Greg Hamilton and his staff, development camps take place throughout the year in places such Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Spring Training Alumni Series in St. Petersburgh Florida, Training Camp in Cuba and Dominican Repulic, USA Baseball Complex in Cary, North Carolina, and others.  Below is a list of the 42 Toronto Mets that have been a part of this program to date.
