INDIANA TECH 2018-2019 NAIHA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

WENTZVILLE, Mo.- As the first of their two game series came to an end against the University of Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx, the Lawrence Technological University men's NAIHA team came out on top with a 3-1 win. Alec Allen (FR/Livonia, MI) finished with two goals on the night, both in the third period. The team plays the Lynx again at 4:30 p.m.
While both teams had 38 shots on goal, the Blue Devils found the seam between Lynx Goalie Sam Pikus two more times than the Lynx got it past Senior LTU Goalie Austin Petty (SR/Livonia, MI), securing the win with 37 saves
Starting the game off was a goal from Blake Heier (SO/Hartland, MI) in the first four minutes of the game, with an assist from Brenden Preiss (FR/Livonia, MI) and Ryan McNulty (SR/Chelsea, MI). After a scoreless 15 minutes, the Lynx found the back fo the net for the first and last time of the game. It was not until the third that Lawrence Tech took the lead with two unanswered and unassisted goals from Alec Allen, the first of which came in the first 40 seconds of the third and the second came with five minutes left.
Both teams kept the game clean with LTU grabbing four of the six penalties for the match on Friday, including one 10 minute unsportsmanlike coming from Bryce Ebert (FR/Sherwood, OR).
A recap for game 2 of the weekend was unavailable but Lawrence Tech again came out on top 4-1.
