INDIANA TECH 2018-2019 NAIHA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- Seniors Austin Fullmer (SR/Clarkston, MI), Drake Gentile (SR/Clarkston, MI), Ryan Paulus (SR/Livonia, MI), Ryan McNulty and Austin Petty (SR/Livonia, MI) took their last few games at the Southfield Ice Arena seriously and went out with a bang, sweeping Concordia during their senior weekend and scoring several points. On their senior night, they skated past the Cardinals as the starting line and winning the night 8-4. The next day saw an even more stellar performance from the Blue team with a shutout posted by Petty and a win of 7-0.
The first game saw many shots on goal in the first period alone. During this time, three of the seniors collected points. Ryan Paulus struck first after a stalemate until four minutes into the game, with assist from Blake Heier (SO/Hartland, MI). Concordia responded only moments later. Less than a minute after the Cardinals scored, Lawrence Tech came back and took the lead again, with a goal from Bryce Ebert (FR/Sherwood, OR) and assists from Conner Victory (JR/St. Clair Shores, MI) and Blaker Heier.
Concordia responded once again, throwing these two teams into a fight for a lead. However, back-to-back goals from the Blue Devils put them up, this time seeing Blake Heier in the goal column with assist from Brenden Preiss (FR/Livonia, MI) and assist leader and senior Drake Gentile. The Cardinals responded once again before the first ended.
The second period showed the Cardinals starting off strong with a goal to make it 4-4. However, Preiss found the back of the next four minutes in, starting the run from the Blue Devils. Next, Blake Heier scored again from an assist from Ebert. To end the half, Max Kjome (FR/Minneapolis, MN) went alone and put the team up 7-4. Half way into the third, Alex Schlueter (SR/Oxford, MI) found the back of the net before heading to play in the Hope vs LTU men's lacrosse game, getting two quick assists from Victory and Edward Flood (JR/St. Clair Shores, MI).
The second game opened with a goal form Kjome alone at 7:16 in the first. With less than a minute left in the first, McNulty added to the mix to make the game 2-0. The second period saw some more penalties before Flood added to the mix alone with 6 minutes left of the period to make the game 3-0. Schlueter found the back of the net as well off a shot that ringed off the far post, pushing the score to 4-0 going into the third.
Adding to his record, Gentile opened the third with a goal. The team then seated Petty after he posted a shutout and put in White goalie Chris Sergison to finsih the period out. Before the period end, Preiss hit back to back goals. The first was assisted by Alec Allen and Petty, getting an offensive stat. That concluded the game and the series against Concordia with a 7-0 win.
