Indiana Tech Takes Two From LU-Belleville

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Lindenwood University – Belleville, 3-2, on Friday night at the Shark Tank in North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) to extend their program-best win streak to 15 games.
 
"I thought this was a good team win tonight," said head coach Frank DiCristofaro. "We had contributions up and down the lineup."
 
Trailing 1-0 in the second period, Tech would get goals from Zach Bennett and Jimmie Kotilainen to go ahead 2-1. The Lynx tied the game up at 2-2 with just under seven minutes to play in the period, but Bennett broke the tie with 32 seconds left in the period to put the Warriors ahead 3-2 with the eventual game-winning goal.
 
Ryan O'Toole finished the game with 26 saves to improve to 10-3 on the season while Adam Jonak had a team-best two assists.
 
Tech (20-3-0) returns to action Saturday as they face off with Lindenwood-Belleville again. Puck drop is set for 9:30 p.m. EST from the Shark Tank.

 

SATURDAY, FEB. 9TH

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team extended its winning streak to 16 games on Saturday evening as they defeated Lindenwood University – Belleville, 4-2, at the Shark Tank.
 
Jimmie Kotilainen put the Warriors ahead just over six minutes into the game while Cameron Wirick extended the lead to 2-0 at just over five minutes into the second. After the Lynx cut the deficit to one two minutes later, Joel Holmberg notched a power play goal to restore the two goal lead with 10 minutes to play in the period while Jarrett Pfeiffer made it a 4-1 game under a minute later.
 
Bryson Linenburg made 26 saves to improve to 11-0-0 on the season.
 
Tech (21-3) returns to home ice this weekend as they host Midland University in a three-game series. Puck drop on Friday is set for 7:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
