SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological University men's NAIHA team lost to the Wolverines of University of Michigan Dearborn 6-2 last night at home. They play again today at the Wolverine home rink in hopes of splitting the two game series as they get closer to the WHAC tournament.

The Blue Devils (13-12, 2-5) fought hard against the tough Dearborn  (20-2-1) team who has only suffered two losses this entire season, holding the #2 spot in the league. The shining star from that night was Jake Stawinski (FR/Macomb, MI) who scored the lone two Lawrence Tech goals. After a quick goal from Michigan with under eight minutes left in the first, Stawinski found the back of the net by himself only minutes later. The second saw Dearborn striking twice and pushing their lead to two. Stawinski scored again to open the third period with two minutes gone from the clock with assists from Alex Schlueter (SR/Oxford, MI) and Conner Victory (JR/St. Clair Shores, MI), putting the Blue Devils within one, but the Wolverines responded three more times and extended their lead to 4, ending the game 6-2.

Both of Lawrence Tech's goals were off power plays, where as two of the six from Dearborn were also off power play opportunities.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Facing the No. 2-ranked University of Michigan-Dearborn, Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's NAIHA hockey team dropped the final game of the weekend series 3-1.

Lawrence Tech (13-13, 2-6) started off the home-and-home series with a 6-2 loss on a Friday thanks to a late surge by the Wolverines. On the road at the UM-Dearborn Field House on Saturday night, the Blue Devils fell 3-1. Senior Drake Gentile was the lone Blue Devil to score, notching his 73rd career goal, an LTU modern era record for career goals.

The Wolverines (20-2-1, 8-1-0) started off the game strong with capitalizing twice during power play opportunities, scoring in the first 3 minutes and the last four minutes, pushing their lead to 2-0 in the first period. Three penalties occurred in the first, two of which came from Lawrence Tech. The second period was clean, with only one penalty coming from the Wolverine bench, but Lawrence Tech could not find the back of the net.
