The New Tecumseth Civics are proud to announce the completion of a trade with the Temiscaming Titans that will see the Civics acquire physical 1997 born defenseman Victor Mattsson and the playing rights to 5 year junior hockey veteran Adam Cech in exchange for the Civics 4th round draft pick in the 2019 draft and future considerations.

Mattsson joins the Civics directly from the Titans and will join the team following the winter break. Mattsson will continue to impose his playing style on the North Division which is a combination of his size (6'4") and skill (17 Points in 26 games) allowing him to play the role of an intimidating yet skilled puck moving blue liner.

Prior to his joining of Temiscaming Mattsson, the Torggatan,Sweden native, played 5 years in Sweden including, J18, J20, Division 3 and Division 2 as well as a year in the United States playing in the Minnesota High School League.

Civics Assistant GM Jordan Richardson had this to say about the acquisition of Mattsson, " We are very happy to have completed this trade for Victor as he is a player we having been watching for the majority of the season, our hope and his expectation is that he can come in and provide a solid defensive presence using his large frame while also getting involved on the rush and being reliable in the opponents zone, we have shown this season we can beat anyone and adding Victor is another move we are making to help establish ourselves as a contender in the North."

The Civics also acquired the rights to defenseman Adam Cech in the trade, Cech is currently playing pro in Belgium but spent parts of this season with both the Almaguin Spartans and Temiscaming Titans compiling 12 Points in 12 games for the two clubs, this following a 4 year span where he played junior in the MHL B and WSHL, if Cech joins the civics he will be one of their most polished offensive rear guards.

The Civics will be sending the Titans 4th round draft pick in this offseasons upcoming 2019 draft as well as future considerations, this is the latest in a string of deals the Civics and Titans have made that have seen players such as Arvid Sjogren, Guillaume Taupier, and Adam Edmands be sent either way.
