This will be the first time in team history that the sole eagle head will serve as the primary feature on the home sweater. In previous years, the logo was flanked by the letters "NU," only to be followed by a series of uniforms that spelled out "NIAGARA" across the front.

The coaching staff had this to say about the decision to move forward with the new look:

"We decided to make a major change that we felt would symbolize a new era of Niagara Hockey. This off-season, we've shifted our mindset back to the things that helped elevate our program in previous years. Reestablishing that 'Black and White' mentality was a common theme in every one of our coaches meetings from March through today. It was what eventually lead to the decision to implement those 2 colors as our primary template. The University Purple is utilized as a complimentary color throughout every facet of the uniform. Along with the Eagle Head, it's the first time in program history that we decided to limit the color's appearance. We're extremely satisfied with the outcome and feel that it gives us a look we've never had at home."

With the 2018-2019 season just 20 days away, there appears to be a lot of new and exciting things happening at Dwyer Arena. The coaching staff is confident that with a new look, and an old mindset, last season was one that will soon be forgotten.
