Nottingham Panthers have signed 6’4” defenceman Jaynen Rissling, to complete their blue line for the coming season.

Head Coach Rich Chernomaz confirmed Rissling would be the final defensive singing he will look to make before the puck drops on the 2018/19 EIHL season.

“Jaynen is a young, good skating, two-way defenceman with good offensive skills, good size and a physical presence out on the ice.” Chernomaz said of his latest signing.

Selected in the seventh round (197th overall) by the Washington Capitals at the 2012 NHL Draft, Rissling played in more than 270 WHL games for the Calgary Hitmen, winning the Western Hockey League Championship in 2010.

The 24-year-old turned pro in 2014, splitting time between the AHL Milwaukee Admirals and ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones, remaining with the Cyclones for two further seasons before switching to the Allen Americans last summer.

Rissling would later move to the Wheeling Nailers before finishing out the season with Indy Fuel.

In total, the Edmonton native has played in 175 ECHL games to date.

Risslings’ arrival leaves the Panthers with just one further roster spot to fill to complete their 2018/19 line-up.
